Why thank you, asshole.
*Disclaimer* He wasn't wrong. Also, no rims were harmed in the parking of this vehicle.

I was in a rush and said (quite literally out loud) "Fuck it I'm leaving it here."

I park like this in my Mom's car. I'm used to having something with a good turning circle.

;-) I'm just razzing ya. When I was learning to drive, my older brother always gave me shit about that. It stuck with me.

The appropriate response? "Thanks, man! I've been working really hard on it! It's nice to hear some positive feedback!"

My response, "That's no way to talk to your father". Bonus points if the kid doesn't know who their real dad is...

if I did that with the GLi, my rims would have more scratches than a horribly itchy mosquito bite...

My wife does it a lot, and I always call her out. Right now we drive the same car, so it's really annoying when I'm backing out and think the wheel is straight.

This thing has a reasonable turning circle for its size. With is like saying the Queen Mary has a reasonable turning circle for its size.

That is basically what I said. The "asshole" part was not out loud.

I think he said it because he saw me take this picture. I was originally just going to title this post "Dat flex" or something dumb like that, but he made it easier for me.

No rims were harmed, the tire hit and rolled over rather than climbing the side. I'm very careful not to curb rash them.

Mine is 37.4 stock. Your's is 40.2, so pretty close. AND according to Edmunds, my Mom's Vibe has a better one than both, which is bullshit. Though mine isn't stock, so that might account for the tighter turn in.

Once I had to park like this for a roadside repair, trans line fix and lowered car/no jack.

I think Edmunds is off a bit. The worst steering car I've ever driven is only 36.?. This car literally took backing up once or twice to get in to a damn parking spot.

Cars.com says 20.,8 feet. That's a huge ass difference. 20.8 feet sounds right. 40.2 would be a small freight train.

I told my wife the same thing when I got home this evening and couldn't get into the driveway because of her "parking"
(She took the picture, sent it to me, and said I could post it. She put it on Facebook a couple hours ago)

That seems a bit low. 40.2 is about right for the average car. It's not going to turn around in a space only a few feet longer than it is.

I guess that's right. I was just picturing in my head, and since I suck with mental distances, 40 feet seemed enormous.

Strangely, no. Some minor scuffing on a control arm right at the pivot is all. I've seen worse from hitting a piece of road debris. Once she went off she just left it there and waited for me to get home and we got it back on the concrete w/ a set of oil change ramps. The extraction was pretty un-dramatic
